Assignment #25 TED Talk

The TED Talk addressed photography and it's uniqueness, for it's ability to tell a story through a photograph. It began with David Griffin, the photo director for National Geographic, showing some photographs taken by famous photographers. He begins to say that these photographs can tell a story. Throughout the video, Griffin shows more photos, such as elephants in the wild and them being hunted by poachers. These photographs told the story of these amazing creatures and addressed the issue of these animals being hunted. This video taught that photographs and pictures can address real issues and problems in the world as well as tell an amazing story.

I liked the TED talk video and I felt that Griffin did a great job during his presentation. However, I felt that he could have gone more in depth about how a photograph can make you feel and bring emotions to people. I liked the story he told about his son and how he can remember it like he took a mental photograph. I wish he had also gone more in depth about this idea because I find it interesting. In conclusion, I felt that Griffin should have focused this TED talk on how photography emotionally and mentally affects us.

I felt that this TED talk helped me realize that photography is more than just a simple picture. Every time I think about photography, I think about the human mind and how memories are like photographs. When we put all of these photographs together, they tell a story.

Assignment #24: Wrapped Object

My ideas:
My first idea is to wrap my living room in bed sheets so that it looks like one of those horror movie scenes where everything is wrapped. I like how it will look creepy and mysterious.
My second idea is to wrap up my mom's car with christmas wrapping paper. I think that this will be very funny and I want to include my mom in the picture to get her expression since she will be angry.
